Affiliate Cloaking & Tracking
If you are trying to sell an affiliate product through your website, it is absolutely vital that you keep track of all of your statistics. People usually track much traffic their main page gets, but not the amount of people who click through to the actual affiliate product. Why should you?
If you are receiving targeted traffic, you want about a 50% click through rate into you affiliate product. What this means is if your main page receives 50 unique, targeted visitors, 25 of them should click onto your affiliate product. If you know your CTR, you can edit the site layout/product so that you earn more.
In addition to tracking your affiliate product click through rate, you also want to cloak your affiliate link so that the person who clicks through to the site uses your affiliate link and not someone else’s.
I have been doing the thirty day challenge and coded my own affiliate link tracker/cloaker (before I Dan released his) which can be found at http://drasky.net
Read the help file if you don’t understand something, I think I have everything covered in there.
